At iBoxLab, we are building scalable systems that handle real-world complexity. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who can design systems, lead technical decisions, and build high-performance, reliable services. This is not just about writing code. It's about owning backend architecture, solving hard problems, and guiding the team.
What You Will Work On
Design and build scalable backend systems across multiple products using PHP/Laravel
Architect and develop high-performance REST APIs and microservices used across different product domains
Work with large datasets and optimize database performance (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
Design and implement caching strategies (Redis, query optimization, etc.)
Handle high-traffic systems and ensure reliability under load
Lead system design discussions and make key technical decisions
Improve system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Review code, enforce best practices, and maintain code quality
Debug complex production issues and ensure system stability
What We Expect
5+ years of experience in backend development
Strong expertise in PHP & Laravel ecosystem
Deep understanding of system design, scalability, and performance
Strong experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL (indexing, query optimization, schema design)
Hands-on experience with caching (Redis/Memcached)
Experience handling large-scale systems or high-traffic applications
Comfort using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) in your daily workflow
Familiarity with Node.js or Golang is a strong plus
Experience with OTA, flight, or hotel booking platforms is a Plus
Experience with API design, microservices, and service communication
Understanding of CI/CD, deployment, and production environments
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
